Would you like to become an Eastern Star? 


The Order of the Eastern Star is one of the oldest and largest worldwide fraternal organizations to which women and men can belong.

Founded in 1850 by Dr. Rob Morris, a Master Mason, Eastern Star is based upon the biblical principles of heroism, moral values and charitable works. The Order of the Eastern became a part of the Masonic Organizaiton in 1873.

The Order of the Eastern Star is open to both men and women.

Prospective members submit a petition to the Eastern Star chapter they wish to join.

Women must be over the age of 18 years, Women who are relatives of (includes marriage) past or present Master Masons come in through, what is referred to as bloodline.  Women past the age of 18 who have been part and OES Youth organization may also petition.  Other women are accepted as the jurisdiction’s Most Worshipful Grand Master allows through adoption.  Male petitioners must be Masons who are in good standing with their lodge. Females must be 18 years of age or older, and related to Masons in good standing.

Petitions are reviewed and election to membership is by vote of Chapter members. Members are assessed dues and/or other by the local chapter and the Grand Chapter.
